Simon Says you need to knit this hat!

This ribbed hat is a very simple, quick knit. The k2p2 ribbing runs from top to bottom. You can’t get much more simple than that! You can knit it all in one color, knit stripes, knit the body in one color and the crown in another color… your imagination is your only limit. Put a pom pom on top if you’d like!

One pattern for the whole family! Written for sizes preemie through adult. Choose from beanie or toque. Something for everyone!

Simon Says is perfect for children because it will fit for a long time! The k2p2 ribbing throughout gives this hat the ability to cinch in for a snug fit and to also stretch willingly for long wear.

This pattern is worked in the round from the brim to the crown. You will need one 16” circular needle and double point needles in a size that meets gauge, as well as a tapestry needle. There is optional use of a 16” circular needle 2 sizes smaller than gauge.

Simon Says can be worked with worsted weight yarn or with 2 strands of sport weight yarn held together. Just be sure that you use a fiber that has a little bit of spring in it, and you will be ready for action!

The Infant size fits from around newborn thru 18 months. The Toddler size fits from around 2T thru 4T. The Child size fits from around 4T thru 10 years old.

Preemie/Infant: 12-15”
Toddler: 16-18”
Child: 18-20”
Small Adult: 20-22”
Large Adult: 22-24”

Formerly known as Ribby Hat, but it got a makeover.
