Classic great fitting ribbed socks with distinctive styling. Easy-to-knit left and right-angled lines of eyelets embellish ribbing on legs. Another design feature is the subtle “eye of partridge” diamond pattern on the heel flap, an interesting yet easy variation of the common slip-stitch heel.

Note:
This is a good basic pattern for a beginner learning to knit socks in a traditional method, as detailed counts for stitch placement on each of the double point needles is given throughout the instructions.

Even for more experienced sock knitters, the sock design itself makes an interesting and enjoyable knit. So much so, that you may want to continue to use this basic design as a template for variations of other socks you create.
