I love handspun but usually only have small amounts of it--4 or 8 oz. I look for projects that take advantages of the qualities of handspun especially the subtle color shifts in plied yarns. I also love patterns that are flexible since handspun yarns are so varied. With that in mind, I thought of this pattern--simple enough to knit mindlessly but with a little bit of interest to really show off the yarn.

My handspun was from Hello Yarn’s fiber club--a BFL/Silk 75/25 blend in “Floating Down.” I spun it as a 2 ply spun at 22:1. Final yarn was a light fingering at roughly 450 yards/4 oz. I knit this scarf at a gauge of 6 sts/inch in garter stitch. Finished scarf was 6x100 inches and weights 3 1/4 oz.
