This hat is knit using 2 strands of sock yarn held together, but you can use any yarn that will get you gauge, so yarn weight would be somewhere around DK to a Light Worsted weight. The hat is also fairly stretchy unless you use a yarn that doesn’t have much give in it. It can be stretched out to about 18 inches comfortably. I made this hat to fit my daughter’s head, which is about 15 inches.
