Simple Slip Over
Designed for use with Handspun wool. Gauge is firm at 18 stitches over 26 rows on 3.5mm needles for a 10cm square. This absorbs the random inconsistencies in Handspun wool. This project requires sturdy pure wool.
IT IS VITAL THAT A TENSION SQUARE IS WORKED before starting the project.
Garter stitch forms a firm edge at the arm-holes and neck edge and saves the drama of picking up stitches for a ribbed edge.
Buttonholes on the right shoulder allow for any head to easily go through the neck-opening. The opening is firmed up by garter stitch.
This Slip-Over is chiefly designed for active children needing a hard-wearing outer layer. Perfect for between seasons and over finer-stitched garments.
It is worked in one-piece starting at the front then knitting from the shoulder to the hem for the back.It is joined at the sides in a basic seam.
The Tin Shed Yarns Simple-Slip-Over is a rugged simple version of a classic Vest.
