These simple slip stitch mittens are the perfect winter accessory. Cozy and warm but small enough to fit comfortably in your pocket, they are a great mitt for everyday wear.
The slip stitch fabric gives a plain, even weave with less holes than traditional crochet, making for warmer mittens.
Use wool and wear them all season- as they felt from use, they become warmer and warmer, not to mention softer!

Every size except the men’s large can be made from one 100g/200 yd+ ball of worsted weight- the men’s large needs about 10-20g more.

Gauge:
Ribbing: 5 sts & 7 rows = 1”
Mitt: 5.5 sts & 5 rows = 1”

These mittens look great in plain colours as written, but adding stripes is as easy as swapping out colours at the beginning of the row and is a great way to use up odd bits of wool.
