I designed this hat years ago when my daughter was an infant and she needed a cool, yet protective hat for a camping trip. Necessity is the mother of invention!

For some added flair, the brim is designed to curl upwards and a little flower in a contrasting color to dress it up.

There are two flower patterns included – a 5-petal and a 6-petal. The flower designs can be used on any size hat. You could even make them both and layer the 5-petal on top of the 6-petal flower!

The hat is worked as a continuous round so there is no “seam” at the start of each round.

Approximately 10 yards of a contrast color is needed for the flower. There are two flower styles included - a 5-petal and a 6-petal. You could even make one of each in contrasting colors and layer them for a 3-dimensional flower!
