This is an easy-peasy pattern: strips of stockinette and yarnovers in a set sequence. The last 4 rows are garter stitch, to avoid the stockinette curl.

The original shawl was knit using about 300 yards of Henry’s Attic Kid Mohair and US8 needles, but any fingering or sportweight mohair can be used. As well, needles and gauge don’t matter; knit a swatch of stockinette and determine how open you want your pattern to be.

I recommend a semi-solid yarn, or a variegated yarn that’s not too busy / has many color changes / has short sequences of color.
