This poncho is knit as a flat rectangle, with i-cord edging and a simple, 4-row repeat lace panel that runs up each side. After knitting, the bound off edge is seamed to one side near the cast-on edge.

Directions are for 2 variations:

’A’ is knit with 2 skeins of Nako Calico, on US#10 needles.

’B’ is knit holding a strand of Mirasol Nuna Fina along with a strand of Shibui Silk Cloud, using US#11 needles. 1 skein of each is required.

This could easily be adapted to a variety of yarns ranging from lace weight to DK weight. It should be knit on larger needles than recommended for the yarn. Keep this in mind when considering yarn substitutions. A very loose fabric provides for a nice drape to the poncho and clear definition of the lace pattern.
