Errata:
CO 284 sts (not 285).
Row 1 and every odd row: knit
Rows 2 and 4 should read:
Row 2: SSK, * k68, pm, p2sso; rep from * 2 times more; k67, k2tog - 276 sts
Row 4: SSK, * k to within 1 st of marker, place new marker, p2sso, removing old markers as you work; rep from * 2 times more; k to last 2 sts, k2tog - 268 sts.
Each succeeding round will have 1 stitch less than stated in the magazine, until at the very end, where you will have 8 sts (not 5).

Lessons learned in process:

  1. If doing this as a group project, either swatch/adjust so each contributor’s square is the same size OR have someone add borders to the individual squares so they become a uniform size! Our squares varied from 21 1/2 to 26 inches.
  2. Search for errata BEFORE beginning a project.
  3. Continue to check your “side” stitch counts are the same. We all ripped out multiple rows more than once.
  4. After all the squares are put together, the results will be better than you expected.
