Yes, you can knit a triangle in the round (with the right math it’s easy).

I love clean, classic, simple lines and when I saw the “Birdie” packs from Wollmeise yarns I knew I had to design something unique with them.

I thought it would be fun and different to start the triangle design in the centre on double pointed needles. (Magic loop or 2 circulars work well too). From there I spread outwards with simple stitches so that the colours would be the flowing beauty of the design. To keep the feeling of flight and grace I separated the design into wings (flat knitting)…..and Skyhawk was born.

It’s simple enough to adapt this design to any range of colours and any amount of colours. I do suggest 100% wool for the ease of blocking. Any fingering weight can be substituted for the yarns I used. It can affect size and yardage but this is a very adaptable design.
