This sleepy golden retriever was originally created to pay tribute to my family’s dog, Sonny, who passed a couple years ago. I did my best to capture all the aspects that make this breed so beautiful and loveable. I hope others can use this pattern to recreate their sweet pups! If you don’t add the longer hair at the end, you can also use this pattern to make a labrador :)

Materials Needed:
~about 200 Yards of worsted yarn, in gold, as well as a small amount of both beige and black.
~18mm plastic dog nose (or you can use black yarn to embroider the nose, if preferred)
~crochet hook G (4.0mm)
~tapestry needle
~wire pet brush
~stitch marker (optional)
~Straight Pins
~fiberfill

Gauge is not important on this item. With a G hook and worsted weight yarn, your dog should measure about 10” long. Sizing will vary if you choose to use a different weight yarn and hook. If changing yarn weight, be sure to adjust your hook size accordingly.
