I love playing with textures and cables in the same pattern. This particular hat pattern was born from my desire to have certain elements of other patterns but leave out the ones I didn’t want. The cable design is offset, some up & some down, which is why I named the hat Slightly Staggered.

Requirements:
Size US 4 & 5 circular needle 16”
A set of DPN’s in size 5
Stitch marker (if you use one)
Cable needle
~200 yards of worsted weight yarn is a generous estimate.

Skills Utilized:
Knit
Purl
Joining in the round
Basic cabling
Decreasing

Pattern Notes:
Use size 4 for ribbing, size 5 for main pattern, for a better fit. Gauge is calculated over a size 5 needle.

I highly recommend a plied worsted weight yarn when using this pattern. A plied yarn will give the best stitch definition and maximize the contrast of the cables and the textured stitches. Worsted weight on a smaller needle will also help give stitch definition and create a dense warm fabric perfect for windy fall and chilly winter days!

As always please PM me with any questions you may have and I will be glad to work with you to ensure your happiness and success!
