I love knitting socks. Their value is two fold: they keep my hands busy as I work them up, and they keep my feet cozy when I put them on.

These socks include all of my favorite things in a sock, from cuff to toe. The pattern incorporates a 2x1 cuff, and a simple slip-stitch pattern that pairs visual interest with mindless knitting. I have also included one of my favorites toes: a rounded toe with equally spaced decreases that swirl around just a bit.

For added enjoyment, there are instructions to modify the stitch pattern to make the most of your favorite self-striping yarns.

The pattern is written for DPNs, but you can use any method of knitting in the round you prefer.

Check your gauge about 1-2 inches into the leg to make sure the slip stitches aren’t pulling in-- if not, you may have a too-snug gusset-- and nobody wants that!
