Glorious colorwork knitting, easy-peasy! Slip stitch/mosaic knitting with two colors makes your knitting look complicated, but you’re only working with one color in each row. The pattern uses worsted weight yarn in two colors.

This Slip Away Cowl introduces you to five slip stitch patterns, knit flat. You can choose to use any or all of these stitch patterns to make this cowl uniquely yours. Notes are included for using these same stitch patterns in the round.

Gauge is not critical, but will make your cowl wider or narrower.

2023 update: I’ve added knit-in i-cord selvege edges, and a bonus slip stitch pattern, Zig Zag Lightning. I’ve also updated the charts to include more row numbers, so you don’t have to count for the repeats. The previous version of this pattern with garter stitch edges is also still available in the Ravelry Library. Knitter’s choice!

A version of this pattern was also released for The Knitting Circle’s Holiday Virtual Event in December 2021, as the Slip Stitch Sampler Cowl.

Thanks to tech editors Jen Lucas (for the Knitting Circle) and Meaghan Schmaltz.

This pattern is also available in my Payhip store.
