This slipped stitch pattern uses a purl round to add depth and texture. It works well with both semi-solids and variegated yarns with short colour runs.

The pattern is written to be needle neutral. The important points - beginning of round, gusset decreases - can be marked with markers or new needles, depending on your preferred sock-knitting method.
