I’ve been watching the Olympics and one of my favorite sports is the slopestyle snowboarding. I noticed the different beanies the Olympians wore, and I wanted to design something simple, warm and practical, the kind of tight-fitting aerodynamic hat you’d want on your head while you flew upside-down, high above the snow in the middle of an intricate spin.

Slopestyle Hat features a sleek transition from 2 x 2 to 1 x 1 ribbing, and decreases in quadrants, much like commercially sewn beanies. So far I’ve knit this hat three times in different color combinations, and because of the simplicity of the pattern, the yarn you choose can bring the hat to life in a unique and different way every time you make one.

Knit this hat while you sit in a warm house watching curling matches, and then wear it out into the world while you adventure!
