These are socks that really want to be leg warmers. You can pull them up to your knees, but eventually they’ll slink back down your calves, looking all cool and slouchy. They’re knit from the toe up in straightforward stockinette, with the heels worked in at the end. The self-striping Noro yarn will give you socks that don’t quite match but still look great together, with interesting contrasting heels. Apart from a couple of tricky-ish sections, you can happily work on this project while distracted by juicy conversations or movies with subtitles. This is a very unsocklike project with no short rows, turning of the heels or grafting, but very socklike results.
