A butterfly motif that kid’s love featured on a project that is not too hard to knit, but has enough detail to keep it interesting. Plus, you can use your favourite skein of sock yarn :)

This hat is slouchy and lightweight, sized to fit children ages 4-10 featuring a cabled butterfly motif and buttoned brim. The butterfly pattern will show best when using solid, light coloured yarn.

Pattern includes written instructions (with abbreviation and abbreviations key) plus a chart of the butterfly motif.

Materials:
Approximately 182 meters/200yards light fingering weight yarn such as Sweatermaker Simply Sock, 1.2cm/ ½” button.

Tools: 40 cm/ 16” 2.25 mm (US 1) circular or straight needles and 40 cm/ 16” 3.25 mm (US 3) circular or straight needles, 3.25 mm (US 3) double pointed needles or equivalent needles for magic loop or sizes needed to obtain gauge, cable needle, tapestry needle.
