I wanted to learn snowboarding and I needed new hat for that. I needed it to be fancy and outstanding, because if I’m on my back or on my nose all the time, then people look at my hat and think “Oh, she has beautiful hat” instead of “Oh my god, she can’t stay up…ever”. So that’s how the hat was born.

This hat has wide double brim and 4 beautiful cables that form a star. And it is slouchy (my big hair clip fits nicely and it won’t look weird).

Pattern is in one size and for heads starting at circumference of 52 cm (20,5 inches). Because of the stretchy brim, it will easily fit for bigger heads then mine. I seem to have fairly small head.

I used 3 balls of DROPS Baby Merino.

Plus you’ll need:

  • 5 double pointed needles size 2 mm (US 0)
  • 5 double pointed needles size 4 mm (US 6)
  • cable needle
  • needle for sewing
