This pattern has been rewritten and improved from an original version posted on the MetaPostModernKnitting website (no longer available).

This is a slouch style beanie that uses short rows to gather the slouch in the back (that don’t show up well in photographs of multi colored yarn). It is meant to sit back on the brow and is perfect for holding unruly hair. For a smaller size or advise on how to create a tighter, more fitted brim, see pattern notes and finishing tips in the pdf.

Improvements made from the original:

  • I used a higher quality yarn in a slightly different gauge.
  • I improved the fit of the brim
  • I added 1 extra set of short rows to make it slouchier.
