I call these legwarmers “sleepers” because the one thing I hate is shifting in bed, and pajama pants riding up over the top of the sock, and getting a few inches of cold sheets on my legs. These legwarmers can be worn over the socks and under pj pants to prevent this, or just about any other way you choose.

These legwarmers can be worn with the purl rounds squished together, or the stretchy design pulled tightly on the vertical so to cover as much leg as possible.
