Cute petite basket pattern themed for St. Patrick’s Day that is attractive and fun to make. In an evening, you can crochet a useful basket that measures about 5.75” in diameter across the bottom and about 2” high. Make one for yourself and several to give as gifts!

Skill Level: Easy

Materials:

Hook: G Hook (4.25 MM)

Note on gauge and hook size: Gauge is not that important for this project. Depending on how you crochet and the yarn you use, you may want to adjust your hook size. My gauge was 2 single crochet stitches and 2 rows equal about 1/2”. Since you are crocheting in the round, each 2 rows of single crochet add about 1” to the diameter of the base.

Yarn: I used Red Heart Super Saver. You can use any type of worsted weight yarn, including cotton, but I would probably avoid very soft yarns as you don’t want your basket to be droopy. You don’t need a lot of yarn, so it’s a great stash buster project! Approximate amounts for the colors used: About 40 yards of White and 15 yards of Paddy Green.

Tapestry Needle (for weaving in ends)
