With this pattern you can crochet yourself a Small Spirit, a creature that can be made in various different ways. The photos show various Spirits that I have made, using the same basic design but with many variations. The pattern gives you full instructions on how to make a Spirit the way you want.

You start with a body made with brushed mohair, add a simple face and arms, then you choose what kinds of ears, horns and other details you prefer.

What is your creature going to be a Spirit of? Maybe there’s some element of your life that you particularly want to represent, either something you love or something you’d like more of, or perhaps you will make your Spirit first then see what you feel it is.

The pattern is quite straightforward and suitable for beginner/intermediate crocheters. The instructions are detailed and easy to follow if you know the basic stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi. The pattern is a downloadable PDF file and you will need Adobe Reader to open it. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have as you are making it.

To make it you will need:
50g mohair or similar type of yarn, preferably with a mixture of colours.
50g yarn, double knitting weight, for face, arms and base.
Optional, depending upon how you wish your Spirit to look:
A small amount of another colour of double knit yarn, for horns.
A small amount of another colour of mohair yarn, for ruff around face.
Approximately 10 pieces of different colours of wool and mohair yarns, about 6” (15cm) long, for ‘whiskers’.
Stuffing.
Wire pet brush (slicker).
1 pair of safety eyes between 10.5mm and 15mm - choose a colour that goes with the colours of yarn you have chosen.
Tapestry needle.
