The pattern for this Small Tosne Snowflake is now available on my blog for free in both UK and US terms. The snowflakes require very little yarn and are good for using leftovers and scraps of yarn.

I make my snowflakes with 3-ply linen yarn as this gives them a natural stiffness and a lovely rusticness, but any yarn can be used. When made with this yarn the snowflakes measure around 9 cm from tip to tip. They need to be blocked when finished and I stiffen mine with a mixture of PVA glue and water to ensure they keep their shape when hanging.

The snowflake is also available as a PDF file along with 2 other snowflakes where there is a photo tutorial of one of the snowflakes - you can find this file in my Ravelry store along with many other patterns - many for free.
