Based on our Waterfall Scarf, Smoke & Mirrors takes one of the most popular designs in Alchemy history to daring & sensational new heights.
Three exquisite colors of Sparky are worked in simple garter stitch panels, with Sanctuary I-cords intersecting. This construction approximates a loom of sorts, as in a warp and weft interaction, with 90 degree intersections occurring between the (2) fibers of different contents.
When the piece is lightly felted after knitting, the I-cords shrink and full (or felt), while the silk yarn relaxes and drapes, resulting in dramatic ruffles as a consequence of how the yarns made of different content come together.
