The cowl is knitted in the round. The length can be changed by repeating the central body-part. You can choose 1 snake that goes 2 times around or 2 snakes that meet in the front.

You start with a provisional cast on, knit the small border at the bottom, knit the snake(s) then a small border at the top, and continue with the inside (snake skin) pattern. The knitting is then folded at the borders and grafted to the cast on.

The pattern is written with large charts for the colorwork.
Techniques used are: stranded colorwork, knitting in the round, provisional cast on, grafting.

You can use 2 or 3 colors: 1 main color for the snake, 1 main color for the snake skin at the inside, 1 contrast color.
