Errata: Original upload omitted the “cdd” description. The current version has the abbreviation explained.

A gradient or striping yarn plays lovely with the chevron stitch effect created by the increases and decreases of this pattern. The pattern can easily be knitted as a scarf (just omit the buttonhole row) or use buttons like I did to create a cowl.

Highly adaptable to the amount of yarn, type of yarn, and needle you have on hand. Make it long or short, wear it as a single or double loop.

The pattern gets it name from working on the cowl during a road trip where Brenda was driving some crazy, twisty roads and the chevrons remind me of the caution signs I kept seeing.
