Watching the Winter Olympics has always been a pleasure for me. Not just because it’s the greatest example of human competition and dedication, but also because of the amazing knitwear on the slopes!
I wanted to design a simple pattern, with the Winter Olympics, in mind, so the Snowball Hat was born.
The Snowball Hat is made with super chunky yarn, and is very soft and comfortable to wear, and features a stitch that reminds me of snowballs. Suitable for men or women, this unisex hat, knits up fast, and will have you warm in no time.
The pattern is worked in the round, bottom up. Best worked in the round using a circular needle, although, an accomplished dpn knitter, could easily knit the entire pattern on dpns. The knitter would just need to stay in pattern, and be able to redistribute stitches on the needles where necessary.
The pattern gives instructions for MEDIUM and LARGE adult, although the stitch count could easily be adjusted for larger or smaller sizes.
