This pattern is for socks constructed using the two stranded colour technique. They are knitted in the round top down with a picot edge, heel flap, turn and gusset. I have used fingering weight alpaca yarn for the leg and foot. The socks are reinforced at the heel and toes with regular sock yarn to make them durable. These socks can be knitted even if you have minimal experience with colour work as the pattern is rather straightforward. The design for the socks is inspired from the arches of the Glenfinnan viaduct (otherwise known as the Harry Potter bridge) and the arches, celtic cross and rose pattern on the stained glass windows from the St Mary and St Finnan church in Glenfinnan, Scotland.
