Canada has weather. And winter. And that means many things; skiing, sledding, skating, snowball fights, snowmen, and warm knitted socks.

After learning to knit colourwork, I was inspired to knit snowflake socks for my Dad’s girlfriend as a Christmas present. I was unable to find a TAAT toe-up pair of worsted weight socks that would allow me to use my new-found talent to make warm, winter socks.

Using a traditional Norwegian snowflake pattern, these socks are what has come from my idea. Using techniques that I’ve taught myself over the past year, I have created a unique pair of snowflake socks. Perfect for someone with basic sock knowledge, but interested in trying something new.
