What happens when a snowflake fanatic mixes a traditional quilt design with blackwork-style interlocking filet crochet? You get Snowflakes in the Attic Window!

Blackwork-style designs create the window frames of nine windows, each with three beautifully detailed snowflakes! No two snowflakes are the same! The scalloped edging is worked as part of the afghan so there is no need to add a border at the end!

A YouTube tutorial is also provided to teach the scalloped edging, the double diagonals used at the corners of the windows for emphasis, and tethering of the layers in the large background sections. A small Practice Attic Window chart is included with the tutorial as well!

This pattern provides both row-by-row written instructions as well as a design chart for reference. Since it contains many diagonals to create the design, it is recommended for someone who is comfortable with the interlocking filet mesh technique.

If you haven’t tried diagonals on an interlocking filet mesh project yet, you can learn how on my YouTube Channel and follow along with my FREE Interlocking Snowflake Coaster pattern! You can also read about it on my blog!
