When the weather outside is frightful, this dapper little chap with his top hat will be Oh-so delightful hanging from your Christmas tree. Make a whole bunch of them for yourself or as sweet additions to gifts for friends and family.

With a polystyrene (Styrofoam) ball for his center, he is lightweight and sturdy and works up quickly in 4ply yarn using a 2mm crochet hook to measure 10cm (4 inches) from bottom of covered ball to top of hat.

Pattern includes detailed written instructions using British crochet terms with American terms given in brackets. A listing of materials needed and stitches used is also provided along with pattern notes containing links to helpful Youtube sites for mastering an invisible decrease.

Materials:
Small amounts of 4 ply yarn in: White, black, orange, red and green
2mm crochet hook
Stitch marker or tapestry needle with thread pulled through it to mark the beginning of each round
60mm polystyrene/styrofoam ball
1 pair of 6mm black eyes (Posts only, fasteners can be discarded)
Fibrefill for hat
Black embroidery thread for mouth
25mm black circle cut from craft foam
Metal foil snowflake for decoration (optional)
