Soar is a beanie style hat worked from the top down. It is designed to be the next step in your learn to knit journey (see “Spread your wings” and “Learn to fly” for first and second knitting projects).

Techniques introduced with this pattern are using slightly finer weight yarn and smaller needles, using double pointed needles or circulars for knitting in the round, the Emily Ocker magic cast on, increasing stitches, using knit and purl to make textured knitting, ribbing and abbreviations.
