This Sock Monkey Hat is knitted with the Magic Loop method of knitting in the round using 36” or longer #7 circular needles. Easy-to-follow instructions for learning the Magic Loop and inside out 3-needle bind off are included. Features are knitted and sewn on after the hat is completed.

MATERIALS
Yarn:
MC: 1 skein Lion Brand Yarn Fisherman’s Wool OAK TWEED (#4 worsted weight)
CC: 1 skein Lion Brand Yarn Fisherman’s Wool NATURAL (#4 worsted weight)
RED: 1 skein Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice CRANBERRY (#4 worsted weight)
A few yards BLACK #4 worsted weight for mouth.

Needles:
Size 7 - 47” circular needle (I recommend the 47” Addi Lace needles, but any 36” or longer needle will work)
or size to obtain gauge
Size 7 extra needle for 3-needle bind off

Gauge:
5 stitches/inch in stockinette stitch worked with a circular needle

Notions:
Stitch markers, tapestry needle, scissors, a little bit of polyester fiber fill stuffing for mouth, two 1/2” black buttons for eyes
