I’m not sure having a sock monkey guarding your tape measurer is the best idea in the world. After all, tape measurers tend to get in enough trouble on their own. Throw a sock monkey into the mix, and heaven only knows what will happen next.

The monkey’s right ear hides the tail of the tape measurer. Just press the center of his back and voila! The tape measurer curls back inside!

Great for crochetists, knitters, those who sew, quilt or anyone who needs to measure something in their life (almost everyone…)

All you need to make this pattern is a round tape measurer (about 2 1/4 inches in diameter - or across), google eyes are optional. I used acrylic worsted weight yarn to make the dark brown monkey, and Lion Brand’s Wool-Ease to make the lighter one, both were made with a G hook. I used VERY small amounts of yarn to make these, so it’s a GREAT stashbuster! A quick, easy project for those who need instant gratification!!
