Sockophilia is another in our Mindless sock pattern series. This one will make you addicted to socks!

Very simple lace pattern, added to a wonderful heel that has no stitches to pick up, makes it the perfect for beginning sock knitters.

Both toe up and top down versions are included in the pattern.

Sock - derived from the Latin soccus, the Old English socc and the Middle English word socke.
The “soccus” was a shoe worn by Roman comic actors. It was a “calceoli” or sock-like and fitted
loosely so they could be taken off quickly. Roman’s sometimes wore soccus with sandals and
then removed their sandals indoors; the soccus remained on their feet.

Philia – derived from the greek philia meaning friendship or dear

Needle: 2.25mm (Be sure to check mm, not all US sizes are the same)

NOTEThere are only two sizes in this pattern, but you will find that adjusting your
needle size and doing the smaller or larger size will allow you to have several other size
possibilities.

Gauge: 8st/in with stockinette in the round

Yarn: 300-400+ yards of sock yarn in a solid or tonal colorway. (This will depend on how long
you want the leg. An anklette will take about 250 yrds, a longer cuff of about 6 inches tall will
take about 400 yrds.)

Sizes:

S (7 in. circumference unstretched)

L (8.75in. Circumference unstretched)
