R.R. Martin’s character Stannis Baratheon is the very serious, very hard brother of the “usurper” king. He is bitter, he cannot suffer fools, and is tired of being the butt of every courtly joke. He was key in helping his brother ascend to the throne but feels he wasn’t compensated properly for his suffering. He is a very hard, very unbending man.

This stitch pattern reminds me of Stannis. After studying the diamonds for a few minutes, you can see that the sharp lines don’t actually meet; the diamonds are not complete. Like Stannis and the personal/political goals that drive him. He’s just not there yet.

Pattern contains both full written and charted instructions.
