Izzy, wizzy, let’s get busy with this adorable Sooty cardigan!

The cardigan is knitted flat from the bottom up, starting with the Back and Fronts, which are knitted in one piece to the armholes. The Body is knitted in Stocking Stitch with a Garter Stitch border. The Sooty and Hat motifs are knitted into the Body using the intarsia technique. At the Armholes, the Back is separated from the Fronts and each section is knitted to the Neckline. The Sleeves are knitted flat from the bottom up, then seamed in place. The button and buttonhole bands are picked up and knitted in Garter Stitch, then sewn in place. Finally, the Neckband is picked up and knitted in Garter Stitch.
