The Sora Dress and Tunic is a simple, easy to wear summer dress with lots of i-cord edges, inspired by the adult-sized Sora Top. Eyelet lace on the back and front adds interest to this simple a-line garment. The light fingering wool/cotton yarn recommended is knit at a very loose gauge which creates a fabric with drape, that fills out when washed and blocked. The sample is shown in a substitute yarn, and recommendations for yarn substitution are included in a separate pdf file.

The dress is worked from the top down, starting with an i-cord cast on, then worked flat with the front and back worked separately. The garment is joined in the round at the armhole with purl faux seams added. It is increased to the skirt measurement, either tunic or dress length, where the garment is then separated for the split hem. Front and back hems are worked flat and then bound off in i-cord. All flat edges are done in i-cord, from the cast on, to the bind off, to the side seams. To finish, small shoulder seams are added to join the front and back of the top, to form the armholes.
