SOS Shawl by Trisha Paetsch

SOS Shawl

Discontinued. This digital pattern is no longer available online.

SOS is a half circle shawl that begins with a gentle curve at the back of the neck, and expands in both length and width according to the taste of the knitter. Designed to be knit in any yarn weight from Lace to Aran, the main body of the shawl is worked in a simple but pretty lace pattern that is easily memorized but more interesting than plain stockinette. The bind off is non-traditional, worked as a continuation of the edging.

I was honoured recently when my friend Mel asked me to knit her a shawl to wear in her wedding. It turned out that I didn’t have to, because the SOS that I knit last year was just what she wanted. The lovely photos of her in her bridal gear were taken by Rebecca Ford who is located in Grande Prairie AB. Rebecca graciously allowed me to use them here.

Please join us for a KAL (With prizes) here! This contest is now closed, but the KAL continues!
