Imagine the sound of leaves under your feet when walking in an autumn forest - the soft rustling and crispy noise accompanying every step. And at the same time it feels light and airy walking through the fluffy leaves, and you can let your mind wander.

SOUND OF LEAVES socks are knitted from the top down. A pattern band runs along the instep.

The heel is knitted as Boomerang heel using German short rows.

The toe is worked as barn toe; to finish it is optional to draw the last sts closed by drawstring or to graft closed using the kitchener stitch - written tutorial enclosed.

SIZES
S (M / L / XL) for US shoe sizes 6 (8.5 / 9 / 12) / EUR 36/37 (38/39 / 40/41 / 42/43)

FINISHED FOOT CIRCUMFERENCE
8.5 (9)’’ / 21,5 (23 cm) - recommended fit is 0.25 - 1” of negative ease in circumference, measured at the widest part of the foot

SUGGESTED YARN
For the sample I used the beautiful MOONSHINE FINE by Juniper Moon Farm - a blend of merino, alpaca and silk add a touch of luxury to the socks.
You can use your favourite sock yarn or any other nice sock blend, too - just make sure to keep an eye on the correct gauge.

SUGGESTED NEEDLES
US 1.5 / 2.5 mm - 32” / 80 cm circular for Magic Loop or a set of DPNs (Use the needle size you need to achieve gauge.)
