This wonderfully simple rectangular shawl is a great stash buster and was made as a Christmas present for my friend Linda Sillence. It was knitted with two strands of yarn held together for the centre panel, for mine I chose one strand of my Superwash Blue Faced Leicester DK and one strand of my Twinkletoes Sock in a complementary colour to give the garment a little sparkle.

The border was knitted using just the DK yarn. It knits up really quickly, there is no need to worry about tension/gauge as the item will be blocked after finishing. The only difficult technique you will need is to know how to do a lace cast on but video instructions for this can easily be found on Youtube.
