From the description: This elbow-length capelet named for the cold south coast of Tasmania is knitted sideways in textured flares and panels, with short rows providing gentle shape and clean modern lines.

Pattern shown in magazine was knitted in 256g/9.25 oz (590m/650 yds) handspun wool.

Finished measurements:

  • 45.5 cm/18” back-neck length at centre back.
  • Longer version in 8ply measured 87.5cm / 34.5” back-neck length.

A suggested commercial substitute would be any 8ply wool or alpaca.

Notes: Garment is knitted sideways commencing at left front side and worked in short rows with wraps to avoid holes when turning. Increases and decreases are worked in the first and last pattern repeats only; this creates the shaping at the neck edge.
