This would work very well with other weights of yarn, too - a fingering weight version would be fantastic.

AND BOO! Never fails! No matter how many proofreaders look at a pattern, something always slips through. The initial increase should be 24 sts, not 14. I will be updating the PDF and sending out again, but noting here again just in case. So sorry for any trouble, am pretty embarrassed over here.
