This unique design creates vertical strips of color blocks.

Hat starts off normally with a rib done in the round. Then a second piece of fabric is worked flat and connected to the rib as it is created.

Pattern requires a second set of needles (or you will have to put the rib onto a stitch holder where you still have access to the stitches.)

Sideways creation of the hat makes it smaller than a normal hat where you cast on 100 stitches. Hat can be made larger by casting on more stitches - adding in multiples of 20.

Hat can be completed seamlessly or completed with a seam - instructions for both are included.
