This tested pattern contains two versions of the shawl, the first uses lace weight yarn, and the second uses double knit (DK) weight yarn. The patterns are very similar. The main difference between the two versions is that for the lace version there are 10 floral bands, and for the DK version there are only 8 bands.

The shawl is approximately 200cm (81”) wide by 150cm (61”) deep. If you want to make the shawl larger or smaller, simply add or reduce the number of flower bands in your shawl.

The beaded edge is optional. The last row of the shawl is slightly different when working the edge with the beads as opposed to working an edge without the beads.

Materials for lace weight version

  • 1 x Fyberspates Scrumptious Lace (45% Silk / 55% Merino, 1000m/100g) – Yarn A and
  • 1 x Fyberspates Gleam Lace (45% Silk / 55% Superwash Bluefaced Leicester Wool, 800m/100g) – Yarn B
  • 870 x 4mm glass multicolored beads (optional)
  • 3.0mm (US 3/D) hook

The lace shawl shown here uses Fyberspates Scrumptious Lace Rose Pink (509) and Fyberspates Gleam Lace Tweed Imps (701).

Materials for DK weight version

  • 4 x Scheepjes Our Tribe (70% superwash merino / 30% polyamide, 420m/100g), where 2 balls are a solid shade and 2 balls are a variegated shade.
  • 140 x 6mm pink glass beads (optional)
  • 4.0mm (US G) hook

The two DK shawls shown

  • 2 x Scheepjes Our Tribe “Pistachio Branch” (878) used as Yarn A with 2 x Scheepjes Our Tribe “Felted Button” (965) used as Yarn B, with pink beads used in the edge.
  • 2 x Scheepjes Our Tribe “It’s all in a Nutshell” (973) used as Yarn A with 2 x Scheepjes Our Tribe “Silver Birch” (880) used as Yarn B, made without a beaded edge.

This design can be made in any colorway. However the shawl is constructed in such a way that it looks best when the granny stitches and the flower stitches have similar, but not identical colors.

This pattern is written in standard US crochet terms and Dutch crochet terms. Note that the pattern DOES NOT contain a chart or video tutorial.
