I know some people have been hanging out for this and here it is!!

If you love woolies and love cloth nappies, then get knitting your Spare Ribs Shoaker now!!! Great for night-time cloth nappies but equally fantastic for daytime due to the concertina effect of the ribbing.

If you use this pattern it would be great if you could show your support by donating to the Bonnie Babes Foundation (easy paypal donation link down the bottom!). They provide grief counseling for families who have lost a baby as well as a myriad of other amazing things. They were an incredible support for me when I lost my beloved Mila Rose last year. Every little bit counts :)

Materials needed:
12ply wool (approx. 150g)
5mm 40cm and 30cm circular needle
2 x 5mm double point needles
Elastic, buttons and sewing stuff for waistband

Gauge:
On 5mm or whatever needle fits for you
18st to 10cm
Remember you want a relatively dense fabric so choose
your yarn/yarn weight accordingly.

Measurements (approx.):
Waist: 40cm unstretched, 60cm stretched
Rise (not including waistband): 52cm unstretched (plenty of stretch in these due to the ribbing!)
Length of leg cuff including ribbing - 5.5cm

This is the same pattern I have been knitting and selling in my shop for over two years now. I have slowly realised that I get more enjoyment out of the designing phase/new projects rather than the knitting again and again of one pattern hence releasing it to hopefully earn some moula for a great cause ;) Although you know what they say about a new set of eyes……please shout out if there are any amendments that need to be made to the pattern.

23/07 - I am in the process of knitting up an 8ply version on 4mm for those smaller bubs - will get back to you with the measurements of the completed 8ply Spare Ribs Shoaker :)
