A super quick make in Chunky/Bulky yarn, perfect for your holiday coffee table or to make as gifts. If you love a bit of sparkle at Christmas use glittery yarn to create stunning festive coasters or make a hanging loop for a pretty festive decoration. You could also string together as gorgeous sparkly bunting. This is a wonderful project to play with size, you can easily go smaller, just use a smaller hook and thinner yarn.

The easy print ad-free pattern also includes the photo tutorial for all techniques and special stitches used for easy reference.

Suggested yarn is the new Recycled Metallic Ribbon by Paintbox for it’s stunningly pretty sparkles and chunky thickness for super fast makes. I love that it’s made from recycled fibres making these a great eco friendly crochet project.

Substitute: Hoooked Ribbon XL Lurex, a very similar yarn that is also recycled.

If you need supplies, it would be wonderful if you’d consider the recommended recycled yarn and if you could use the link on the blog post that would be awesome as it helps me continue to offer free versions of my patterns.

Alternatively use 2 strands worsted weight cotton/cotton blend, held with a metallic thread if the yarn isn’t sparkly and you want sparkles. This measures just a little bit smaller, but is barely noticeable (see the pink star in the photos - made using this yarn combination).

Hook size: N (10mm)

Skill level: Advanced Beginner
You’ll need Knowledge of how to do a magic ring, single crochet (UK double crochet) and half double crochet (UK half treble crochet).

Special techniques/stitches are explained in the pattern: Picot
and invisible join methods (photo tutorial included). You can join your usual way if you prefer.
