This is a hat I designed years ago when I was working up at a ski lodge in Manning Park, BC. In the fall off-season there was no work for me but I stayed anyway and traded hand knit hats for home cooked dinners.

It is a slouchy hat that can be worn like a beret on that back of the head, or pulled forward for a more cloche-like silhouette. It is knit in the round from bottom up beginning with a small, ribbed brim. I’ve used yarn overs and simple decrease stitches to create diagonal lines of lace that spiral around the hat and into the crown.
